PM2.5 falls 6.2% across China in first seven months, water quality improves_我的网站

一 |     (ECNS) -- China recorded improvements in both air and water quality in the first seven months of 2026, with average PM2.5 concentrations falling 6.2% year on year, Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu said Thursday.    The average concentration of fine particulate matter, or PM2.5, fell by 1.8 micrograms per cubic meter from a year earlier, while the proportion of days with good air quality increased by 3.9 percentage points, Huang said at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office.         The proportion of surface-water monitoring sections meeting Grade I-III water quality standards reached 86.5%, up 2.4 percentage points year on year. Water quality in the main streams of the Yangtze and Yellow rivers remained at Grade II.    (By Helen Mo, intern Yang Hongran)                    。    Kathmandu, Oct 9 (UNI) Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari has tested positive for Covid-19, a hospital official said on Sunday.

The president, who was admitted to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on Saturday, tested positive for COVID-19 in a PCR test, said Dr Dinesh Kafle, executive director of the hospital.

"She was admitted to the hospital following a high fever, cough, headache and body ache," Kafle told local media . "On Sunday afternoon, she didn't have a fever but a dry cough. However, she is feeling better."

According to Kafle, the president may need medical attention for a few more days at the hospital. "As she has been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, we are hopeful that no serious complication will arise in her health."



The total confirmed active Covid-19 cases in Nepal stood at 570 by Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
