County-level markets fuel robust growth in China's retail sector_我的网站
A | (ECNS) -- County-level markets have become a vital engine of China’s retail expansion, with sales nearing 20 trillion yuan ($2.77 trillion), a NielsenIQ report said Monday. Counties now account for 43% of national FMCG sales and 67% of durable goods sales. Consumption is shifting from essentials to self rewarding purchases, with premium categories rising 16% and omni channel sales up 12.5% year on year. Durable goods posted steady growth, and tech products’ average prices have climbed for three years. The Ministry of Commerce and eight other agencies recently introduced 18 measures to boost county‑level consumption. “County economies are moving toward urban‑rural integration and distinctive local development,” said Ding Na of NielsenIQ, noting the opportunities for retailers in smaller cities. For Ahan, the film not only marks his return to the theatres after a long gap, but he also has to carry forward his father Suniel Shetty's legacy, who was an important part of the film Border.
During the event, the actor spoke about the advice his father gave him regarding his role. Ahan said, "Just be honest with your role, be honest with the character, and just have fun. Go out there and enjoy yourself. Don't think too much about what people have to say, or don't compare it to Border 1. That was the most important."
He continued, "I'm grateful for this opportunity. First of all, working with Varun sir and Sunny sir, an absolute legend, who did Border with my father. So I'm also carrying that legacy forward. There is a certain type of pressure, but that pressure will always be there. But like they say, 'baap toh baap hota hai'. So if I can even be 10 per cent of what my father was in that film, I think I'll be able to do justice to the character."
Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty play soldiers in Border 2 who are trying to navigate through the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Directed by Anurag Singh and backed by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 brings together a strong cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa and Ahan Shetty.
Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T Series along with JP Dutta's production house, the film aims to honour the spirit of Indian soldiers and take audiences through a journey of patriotism, courage and sacrifice. With its release set for January 23 2026, just before the Republic Day weekend, the excitement around Border 2 continues to grow with every new reveal.
