Representing Shetty, Advocate Sana Raees Khan highlighted the seriousness of the issue, stating that the actor’s public image is the product of decades of work and cannot be commercially exploited without her permission. “No platform or individual can appropriate her name, likeness or persona for financial gain. Such misuse is a direct attack on her dignity and reputation. We have approached the High Court to ensure her identity is not treated as a commodity,” Khan said.
Shetty’s legal action follows a growing trend of Indian celebrities turning to the courts to secure their personality and publicity rights. Recently, stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, Rishab Shetty, Hrithik Roshan and Akkineni Nagarjuna have obtained similar protection orders.
