A | New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) A Special Court in Delhi adjourned till Thursday the hearing on the money laundering case against Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain and others.
Special Judge Vikash Dhull after hearing part arguments on the bail application on behalf of Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain said, "Put up tomorrow for hearing remaining arguments. Superintendent, Tihar Jail is directed to produce accused Satyendar Jain, Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain through video conferencing tomorrow. "
Counsel for Jain has submitted that the petition challenging the transfer order the case from one Special Court to another Court passed by Ld. Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (PC Act) pending before Supreme Court of India has been withdrawn.
The Principal District & Sessions Court of Rouse Avenue, New Delhi on September 22 transferred the matter registered under the provisions of Prevention Money Laundering Act against Satyendar Jain from the Court of Special Judge Geetanjali Goel to Special Judge Vikash Dhull. Jain challenged the order of transfer in High Court and Apex Court and later on withdraw the same from Apex Court.
Government Counsel for ED opposed the bail application by submitting that Jain served as a Health Minister in Delhi may managed to get forged documents and can influence the doctors and Jail official.
Counsel for Jain opposed the application of ED by submitting that this is a malafide application to derail the trial and to prolong the custody of Jain. He contended that Jain is neither a Health Minister nor Jail Minister but is in jail and because the hospital where Jain was admitted under the control of Delhi Government is no ground to alleged bias in the case.
In this matter, ED has earlier opposed the bail application of Satyendar Jain by submitting that if the bail is granted, he may influence the co-accused, witnesses and other documents related to the case.
Investigating Agency has arrested Satyendar Jain in this Matter on May 30 under the provisions of PMLA and he is now in the judicial custody at Tihar.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in its chargesheet alleged amassing assets to the tune of Rs 1.47 crore in Disproportionate Assets case while Enforcement Directorate has submitted the attachment of Rs 4.81 crore in connection with money laundering investigation.
UNI XC SHK1927。 전남광주시 최종 결정 30일 신청전남연구원 위탁, 공정하게 평가 황기연(가운데) 전남광주통합특별시 행정부시장이 26일 무안청사 기자실에서 국립의과대학 설립 관련 기자간담회를 하고 있다. 전남광주시 제공교육부가 국립의과대학·병원 신설 신청 기한을 30일까지 연기하기로 해 전남권 의대유치 불씨가 다시 살아났다. 하지만 교육부는 전남광주통합특별시가 의대 신설 대학을 직접 선정하고 추천하도록 해 그 결과가 주목된다.전남광주시는 국립의대 신설 추진 계획 신청이 20일 마감됐으나 교육부가 30일까지 연기하겠다고 통보했다고 26일 밝혔다. 정부는 그동안 전남광주와 경북 두 곳을 국립의대 신설 후보지로 압축하고 정원 100명과 2030년 개교를 목표로 신청서를 접수했다. 경북도는 국립경국대 의대 신설 계획서를 20일 제출했으나 목포대·순천대 통합 의대 신설에 실패한 전남광주는 계획서를 내지 못했다. 민형배 전남광주시장과 시는 사업 본래의 취지가 의과대 없는 지역 신설, 지역 간 의료 격차 해소라는 국정과제임을 내세워 정부를 추가 설득해 왔다. 또한 그동안 민 시장을 비롯해 시가 목포대와 순천대에 수차례 중재안을 제시했으나 소지역주의에 갇힌 대학 관계자와 지역사회 갈등으로 인해 협상이 결렬됐다.이날 황기연 행정부시장은 전남광주시 무안청사에서 기자간담회를 갖고 목포대와 순천대 두 곳을 대상으로 신청서를 별도로 받아 평가한 뒤 최종 한 곳을 선정해 교육부에 추천하겠다고 밝혔다. 심사 평가는 전남연구원에 위탁하며 외부 전문가들로 평가위원단을 구성한다. 탈락한 대학과 지역의 반발을 최소화하기 위해 신청서류에 평가 결과에 따른 승복 확약서도 받을 예정이다.민 시장은 "지금 우리가 함께 지켜야 할 가장 큰 목표는 전남광주 국립의대 신설"이라며 "시민의 생명과 건강이 걸린 일이다. 어렵게 얻은 기회를 반드시 살리겠다"고 말했다.。
