Death toll from Ebola outbreak in Uganda reaches 44: WHO_我的网站

A |     陈先生说，他差点被通风口掉落的铁架砸中。    Kampala, Oct 19 (UNI) Forty-four people have died from the Ebola outbreak in Uganda, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday.

"In total, there have now been 60 confirmed and 20 probable cases with 44 deaths and 25 people have recovered. We remain concerned that there may be more chains of transmission and more contacts than we know about in the affected communities," Tedros said at a press conference.

In late September, the Ugandan authorities reported 21 people dead from the infection.

Ebola outbreaks were recorded in Uganda in 2000, 2014, 2017 and 2018. The largest and deadliest was in 2000, when 425 cases of infection were detected and 224 people died. In 2019, several cases were recorded in the country.

C | ”《新明日报》记者星期六（24日）走访上述地点时，发现通风室的通风口已用布暂时遮盖。

D | 据观察，很多公众都会取道此处，应是前往兀兰地铁站的必经之路。SMRT巴士副董事经理倪政权受询时说，他们当时已接获通知，位于兀兰综合交通中心（Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub）上的通风室有通风口铁架已脱落。“为确保路人安全，我们的工作人员及时封锁受影响的区域。”他说，目前已经安装临时遮盖，正在调查事故原因。
