The film's climax reveals that Ranveer's character, Hamza, is in fact Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a convict who was offered an opportunity to redeem himself through this mission. In Uri, a dialogue between the characters played by Vicky Kaushal and Kirti Kulhari reveals that her character's husband, Captain Jaskirat Singh Rangi, was unfortunately killed in action during an operation.
